May Xbox Update: Create, Share, and View Stories in the Xbox app and More

The team at Xbox looks forward to continuing to improve Xbox. We will be working with you to refine the user experience and create new features. This month’s update will bring you the activity feed on the Xbox app for iOS and Android in the form of stories. With Quality of Service Tagging (QoS), you can create, share and view stories together with friends.

The Xbox App for Android or iOS lets you create, share and view stories.

Your activity feed has been updated for Xbox App in Australia. You can showcase your abilities and keep in touch with your friends via Stories. Your favorite games, such as screenshots or achievements, can be shared with your friends. You can also reply to your friends’ stories with a message or a quick reaction.

You can find the stories channel right from the Xbox app’s home screen. You can create a story by clicking the + button next to your gamertag. Next, select the clip, screenshot or achievement from the gallery. You will be taken to a preview page, where you have the option to add a caption and press the publish button on the right. The stories channel shows content from the last 72 hours, and anything you share is also posted to your activity feed on your profile.

With Quality of Service (QoS), tag priority tags to your gaming experience    

QoS tagging, a new feature for Xbox consoles, assigns priority tags to latency sensitive outbound traffic like party chat, console streaming and multiplayer (in support games). You can protect your gaming experience by avoiding connection issues when there is congestion on the supported networks.

In the Settings app under General, Network settings, Advanced settings you’ll see a new button for QoS Tagging Settings. There are two choices under QoS Tag Settings: DSCP or WMM. Find out more information about setting options for Xbox and advanced network settings.
