Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Is The Fastest-Selling PlayStation Studios Game Ever

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has only been available for three days, but the critically acclaimed sequel has already become the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game in the brand’s history.

Sony Interactive Entertainment stated in a release that more than 2.5 million copies were sold during the first day of its launch. The publisher didn’t provide a breakdown in terms of physical vs digital, but that’s an impressive number for the PS5 exclusive. This feat also continues the series’ record-setting trend; 2018’s Spider-Man was also the fastest-selling first-party PS title at the time (for PS4 specifically with 3.3 million sold within the first three days) and, later, became the best-selling superhero game ever in the U.S., a record it still holds today. The time will tell whether this sequel can surpass its predecessor. But it is off to an excellent start.
