Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gets its first trailer with a look at Kraven the Hunter

Insomniac Games brings us the first official look at Spider-Man, its latest game. Marvel Spider-Man 2’s first look came during Wednesday’s Sony PlayStation Showcase presentation, where Insomniac showed off gameplay.

The trailer opens with a long intro about Kraven the Hunter himself, before he’s sent to the most dangerous hunting ground there is: Manhattan. The extended gameplay section shows Peter Parker, in an infected Spidey Suit, searching for The Lizard. This is not so much to defeat him as to protect him from Kraven. But when he’s not able to make it in time, thanks to Kraven’s many henchmen, players get to swap to Miles to help out instead. In the trailer, we also get hints about other characters that could make an appearance in the game, such as Black Cat, Prowler and Wraith.

Insomniac’s first game in the Spider-Man series came out in 2018. A Miles Morales spinoff, called Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles MoralesIn 2020,. Now, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac is bringing both heroes together, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re on the same mission the whole time.

Early speculation suggested that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2Insomniac has recently denied rumors that the game would feature co-operative gameplay or a bigger multiplayer component.
