Mario’s new voice actor is also Wario in WarioWare: Move It!

Mario’s new voice actor is a woman. Super Mario Bros. WonderIt is the voice of Wario. Play WarioWare Move It!, Nintendo has confirmed. Kevin Afghani, a voice actor, has replaced Charles Martinet as the Mario, Luigi, and now Wario.

Afghani’s name appears in the credits for Play WarioWare Move It!But like Super Mario Bros. WonderThe credits don’t specify which actors are playing which parts. The latest WarioWare features the same characters as the Super Mario Bros. Switch. Playable credits — it’s very easy to blow right by the names of everyone who worked on Moving On!, Afghani included.

Nintendo announced that Martinet will no longer be the voice for Mario, Wario and other characters beginning in September. Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Martinet, the voice of Mario for decades, would instead transition to a new role, “Mario Ambassador,” whose duties include “travel[ing] the world sharing the joy of Mario.”

Mario fans noticed that Wario and Mario had different voices when they first watched the trailers. Super Mario Bros. Nintendo, however, waited to reveal the new voices for Mario Luigi Wario and the other characters of the Mushroom Kingdom, until these games are released this fall.
