Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope: Winter Palace statue puzzle guide

Mario and Rabbids Sparks Of HopeFans call it “The Nintendo Switch’s strategy game, or simply “The Switch” XCOM: Make It MarioIt is much more clever than the 2017 version. The first big stumper comes in Pristine Peaks, the game’s second major region, during “Winter Palace” story mission, which unlocks after you stop the blizzard from blizzarding.

Located all the way in the area’s northernmost reaches, “The Winter Palace” requires you to solve a few puzzles between battles. The mission’s core consists of activating two statues located in the rooms west and north of a central chamber.

How to activate first Winter Palace statue on the west side

The first statue is located at the end of a series of trick hallways: Go through the wrong door, and you’ll end up right back where you started. It’s a maddening test of trial and error (and error, and error, and error). Here’s the solution:

  1. Go through the door to your right from the mezzanine.
  2. You’ll end up in a hallway. Along the left wall, you’ll see a trio of cracked walls. Use Beep-O’s WaveAbility (the ZR-button) to break these. The door you’re looking for is in the middle of the three.
  3. End up in the hallway where you will see a statue with a candelabra-wielding gold rabbid. Turn immediately to the left. You’ll see another cracked wall. The Wave ability can be used again to go through the second door. You’ll end up at the first statue. You can activate it by jumping down from the ledge. Then, head back to the central chamber.

How to activate second Winter Palace statue (east)

The task of activating the second Winter Palace sculpture is easier than that of the first. All you have to do is navigate through an ice covered hedge maze. It tells you that the game has a gimmick that allows you to stealthily attempt to bypass the four battles in the maze. Hitman this ain’t. You’ll likely end up in a fight. (Pro tip: If you do, don’t run away, or else you’ll get taken back to the start of the maze.) You may find yourself fighting every single battle just for fun. star bits — a key material used to upgrade your Sparks.

You’ll need to grab the triangular block from the The northeast cornerFor an exact spot, refer to the screenshot. Then bring the item up to the pedestal. Southeast corner. That’ll clear the gate to the second Winter Palace statue, at which point you can make your way back to the central chamber.

How to solve The Winter Palace Constellation Puzzle

Once you activate the two Winter Palace statues, you’re still not done. On the mezzanine in the central chamber, you’ll have to interact with a gold pedestal. The Inner ring doesn’t move at all, so start with the middle ring. Turn it until all the constellations align, and then change to the Ring for inner earsTurn it around right. The rings will glow gold once you’ve solved the puzzle, at which point you can proceed to the Tentacle of the Darkmess at the end of the castle’s requisite boss fight hallway.
