Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Release Date Lands In October, Bowser Joins The Team
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was released on Switch in 2017 and it proved to be an unexpected success. It merged Nintendo’s Super Mario games with Ubisoft’s quirky Rabbids. It was a tactical turn-based title featuring the Mushroom Kingdom’s best and most unpredictable characters. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, which was revealed at Nintendo’s E3 2021 Direct in Tokyo, promises to continue the legacy of the fan-favorite game. However, it has been quite a while since any information about this title. Today, Nintendo Direct Mini brought attention to third-party partnerships.
Sparks are being attacked by alien enemies who want to steal the Sparks’ energy. It appears that these otherworldly creatures, which appear to be Rabbids of Super Mario Galaxy Lumas, have appeared. This makes sense, considering Rosalina plays a major role in this sequel. Mario joins forces once more with his friends to fight this.
Like its predecessor, Sparks of Hope battles play out in turn-based fashion, with positioning and attack order playing key roles in determining the outcomes of battles. Your characters can freely move across the battlefield before you fire their weapons. We were able watch an example battle in a quick gameplay demonstration. Mario, Rabbid Rosalina and Rabbid Liigi worked together in defeating a number of foes. By having each character dash into and stun several enemies, Rabbid Luigi was able to take out several opponents at once before Mario blasts two enemies away during his turn. Rabbid Rosalina uses a friend to bounce off of an enemy to get to a place she couldn’t reach in one turn. All the heroes have cover except Rabbid Luigi who is unfortunately subject to the fire of enemy bullets. Mario turns the tables and throws a Bobomb in order to win.
Bowser joins your team this time, as shown in the trailer. It will be exciting to see the powerful abilities and attacks he can bring to your team in future demonstrations. This update might be short, but Nintendo promises that Ubisoft will have a special showcase at Ubisoft, scheduled for 9:00 p.m. Pacific/12:15 p.m. ET tomorrow. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope will be available for Switching on October 20.
