Legend of Vox Machina season 2 teaser, release date debut at NYCC

The Legend of Vox Machina plays a critical role, an Amazon animated series based on a years-long game of Dungeons & Dragons, was promised a second season way back in 2019. On Saturday fans — who’ve dubbed themselves Critters — got their first look at teaser footage for season 2. It was revealed at the 2022 New York Comic Con and had a January 2023 release window.

Critical Role was founded in 2015 by Matthew Mercer, a Dungeon Master. He and his co-creators — Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham — are all experienced actors, with credits ranging from major motion pictures to beloved video games. They are The Vox Machina Cartoon was originally a crowdfunding campaign that raised more than $11,000,000 on Kickstarter in 2019. It was then taken over by Amazon. The first season featured a familiar story line, and culminated in a fight against powerful Briarwood vampires.

Mercer is currently leading the troupe through a third season of the actual play D&D campaign. Twitch will broadcast the episodes at 10 p.m. EST. Video on-demand episodes will be available on YouTube within one week.
