Have you ever needed to send a text that you wished you could’ve had some help with? Have you ever needed to send a text and wished that someone could have helped? FixyTextSoon, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of a new and improved. Jackbox Party Pack 10, every game is an opportunity to work together to send a message that’s as fun to write as it is to read.

You can also find out more about the following: FixyTextThe players will receive a message to which they must respond. Texts can fall into one of four categories: Serious Business (for serious people), Friends and Family (for family members), or Unknown. You and your friends have to work together to respond to your text… but each of you may have their own agenda. Oh, and did we mention that there’s no delete key?

Players can vote their favourite words and phrases from each message after they have generated them. You’ll be surprised to find out that the person with the most texting points is the winner, while the person with the fewest points gets banned forever from texting. (We’re kidding. Are we kidding ourselves?

FixyText: Behind the scenes

FixyText was inspired by a question posed by Editorial Lead Liz Anderson, who asked, “What if a group of friends could answer your risky texts for you by jamming together in a single text box? What if the delete key was missing?!” Game Director Alina Constantin has further stated that the game was inspired by the universal feeling of pressing send on an important message, looking back at what you wrote, and wanting to throw your phone at the wall.

To create the world, FixyText, the team at Jackbox first needed to create a brand-new mechanism for recording real-time typing updates that could sync up all players’ contributions simultaneously and accurately. The team then tried to bring order out of the chaos by balancing it with ASCII, ASCII characters, low-fi music, and minimal graphics. What was the result? The result?

For example, players are offered optional suggested agendas (such as “write like you’re a ship’s captain”) that they can use for inspiration and added hilarity. What’s more, the FixyTextThe team created a scripted system for game prompts that includes player names as well as favorite words from previous rounds. This means that each FixyTextThis game will make you laugh by using your own words.

World of FixyText

Playing the game of FixyTextBecause the texting and online culture is so ingrained in our lives, we chose an audio-visual background that was low-tech. Bruno Rodriguez’s minimalist art was inspired by risograph printing, 1950’s Italian typewriter manuals, ASCII art and the Teenage Engineering design studio, while musician Kelly Shuda drew inspiration from remixing 80s drum machines, keyboard sounds, and funky hip-hop vibes for their groovy beats.

We hope that you will join us. FixyTextIt is a game people return to because of its chaotic chaos, zany humor and the hive-mind effect. Alina Constantin, Game Director states:

“We hope it’s the kind of game that connects players and gives space for different kinds of joyful creativity, a place where people can feel both seen and inspired to be funny in their own way. We’re excited to see it help folks create words or phrases together that they take with them to other party games and parts of their life, long after the game is done.”
