Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s new trailer shows off “mouthful mode”

Kirby, the Forgotten Land isn’t far off. The game will launch on Nintendo Switch on March 25, and Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct gave a little peek into gameplay.

A new trailer shows Kirby running about a “mysterious world” with an “unusual mix of nature and civilization.” Notably, it also shows Kirby using something called “mouthful mode,” which lets the pink puffball inhale an entire car, a vending machine, and a giant mouthful of water (among other things). Kirby will also be able to “evolve” various copy abilities, leading to more powerful attacks.

Kirby and the Forgotten LandThis is an exciting 3D platforming adventure where our hero will have to discover why Waddle Dees were suddenly kidnapped and taken hostage by the Beast Pack. Kirby will explore a new world of overgrown ruins, where he’ll learn Drill and Ranger abilities as well as the familiar inhale/copy attacks.

Kirby won’t be alone on this journey — the hero will have the help of an ally named Elfilin. Waddle Dee Town will be introduced as part of the game’s central platform. As more Waddle Dees get rescued, the town will grow (this is what gives us hope). Kirby, the Forgotten LandCo-op is also supported, and the second player can join in as Bandana waddle Dee.
