Iron Man VR coming to Quest 2, developer now part of Oculus Studios
Marvel’s Iron Man VRMeta Quest 2 is heading to Meta Quest 2, Meta said Tuesday at its Meta Connect event. This announcement comes two years after the original game was released on PlayStation VR. Oculus Studios has also confirmed that Camouflaj Studios was acquired by Oculus Studios. This acquisition is one of three announced on Tuesday.
Camouflaj is joined by Twisted Pixel at Oculus Studio. Twisted Pixel used to be owned previously by Microsoft and worked on games such as ’Splosion Man, The GunstringerAnd LocoCycle; Armature Studio was founded by the former Retro Studios leaders and is the creator of ReCoreThe virtual reality version and Resident Evil 4Quest 2. Twisted Pixel is now focusing on VR development with four games designed for Oculus (Quest 2)Wilson’s Heart, B-Team, DefectorAnd Path of the Warrior).
Oculus Studios did not announce new projects from those teams, but said in a news release that they’ll work on “ambitious and forward-thinking games” for VR.
Marvel’s Iron Man VR was originally developed by Camouflaj — the studio behind Republique — and released on PlayStation 4 as part of a collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game’s Meta Quest 2 version implies that the PlayStation maker’s plans to bring its games to PC also includes non-PlayStation VR platforms. Endeavor One is the studio that developed this game. Arashi: Castles of SinCamouflaj is being assisted by PSVR with this port.
