Inscryption is coming to PS4 and PS5 with exclusive controller features

2021’s best card game is headed to consoles, as developer Daniel Mullions Games and publisher Devolver Digital announced Thursday that EncryptionIt is headed to the 4 and 5

Card game with a strong focus on the story and world of its cards. Encryption is all about messing with players’ expectations. Creator Daniel Mullins describes it as “part deck-building roguelike, part escape-room puzzler and part psychological horror.”

PS4/PS5 users will get a couple of extra features. For example, your partner’s voice will come from the DualShock 4 or DualSense controller. The lights and sounds on the controllers will match what is happening in the game. DualSense controllers on PS5 will provide haptic feedback.

Devolver Digital has not yet announced a release date on the PlayStation versions. Encryption, saying on Twitter, “we’re genuinely not sure on a release date yet.”

EncryptionIt was launched on Windows PC in 2021 to great acclaim. Polygon’s staff voted it as our game of the year, with reviews editor Mike Mahardy saying, “when Encryption is at its best, and its genre-blending systems are feeding into its narrative, and its deck-building mechanics are telling a story the likes of which can only be told through interactivity, there’s nothing else like it.”
