In Baldur’s Gate 3, bards and rogues show how charisma is OP

Each class is a Baldur’s Gate 3In dialogue, each character brings out their strengths. Warlocks are well-versed in the ways of hell, while druids have a deep understanding of nature. Mages can recall arcane information. Some classes like bards use their silver tongues to solve their problems. The results are often absurd and funny.

Dungeons & DragonsThree main methods are available to help you talk yourself out of any problem. These include: Intimidation and Deception. Persuasion is the most potent of options, and it covers everything from rock-solid logical arguments to fast-talk and playing on a potential ally’s ego.

It’s especially fun to combine this with prompts that are specific to your class. I was able to see right through a tiefling kid’s scam, and we had a nice little bonding moment. Players have found that the bard has a special talent for escaping from danger by using clever conversation. Wakewilder, who is a streaming bard, fails to negotiate with the mad doctor despite his bardly bonus. He then throws the dice and adds some inspiration, which leads to a bewildering and horrifying scene.

Fairly early on in the game, enterprising players might loot around an abandoned village, and if they open a particular set of barn doors, there’s a surprise in store: An ogre and a bugbear embroiled in copulation. Even the rogue can’t small-talk their way out of that awkward situation — but as a bard, you can simply jazz hands your way out of there. You’ve seen a lot of stuff on tour, and it’ll take more than that to shake you.

Watching a bard or rogue’s role-play is fascinating because of the amount of conversation options they have and the potent bonuses on their side. Why swindle a person when you could rob him instead? Why fight a man when you can swindle him? SucklingWhen you can make the enemy turn on himself? Honor? Courage? Why bother with it when your Charisma is boosted?

A game so bizarre and crazy as Baldur’s Gate 3Even the conversation is dense with danger. If you have a bit of luck and a lot of work, it is possible to play a nonlethal character with the ability to gab.
