Ice Age 6 announced for release on Disney Plus in 2022

The Ice Age crew — well, some of them — will return for at least one more movie on Disney Plus. Revealed out of the streamer’s Disney Plus Day event, Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild Follow the adventures of Crash and Eddie, wacky brothers of possums (voiced respectively by Seann William Scott, Josh Peck) as they make their way back to underground cave filled with dinosaurs, where Buck (Simon Pegg), lives. The Ice Age series first broke through to their underground world in 2009’s Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild This movie will mark the sixth installment of the Ice Age series, which started in 2002. These movies followed Manny, Sid and Diego as they explored a barren landscape. They also braced for an impending ice age and returned a baby to its tribe. Ice Age is now completely off-track. The movie invites dinosaurs and pirate animals to the franchise, while also inviting humans onto a metaphorical bus.

It’s unclear if there’s a future for Ice Age beyond the new movie. Blue Sky Studios, which was responsible for the animation of Ice Age, has been closed by Disney. Ice AgeBack in February.
