How to watch GDQ 2023 — Games Done Quick speedrun list
Gaming’s marathon of sprints is back. Games Done Quick (GDQ 2023) kicks off today. The event will last through Saturday, January 14th, culminating with a finale stream in the early hours of Sunday morning, Jan 15.
Games Done Quick has been around for 14 years and is considered to be the standard in speedrunning events. Each year, hundreds of gamers host a variety charity streams in which they attempt to race through the most challenging video games. Over the years, GDQ raised over $40 million in charity. Prevent Cancer Foundation receives donations this year.
GDQ 2023 was originally planned to be an in-person Florida convention. But in Sept. 2022, organizers called off the physical component, citing the state’s “continued disregard for COVID-19’s dangers” and “increased aggression towards LGBTQ+ individuals,” in addition to the costs associated with cancelling at the intended venue. “We do not believe it is a safe place for our community at this time,” organizers said.
Instead, GDQ 2023 can be done entirely online.
