How to Train Your Dragon to get live-action adaptation in 2025
Toothless has returned. How to Train Your DragonOn Wednesday, DreamWorks announced that the film titled “The movie that started a DreamWorks animation franchise” will finally be made into a live-action production. It will release March 14, 2025.
How to Train Your Dragon’s live-action version will see the return of Dean DeBlois, the director of the original animated trilogy, as writer, director, and producer of the live-action movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter’s report, casting for the film is underway. However, no formal announcements have yet been made.
First How to Train Your DragonDreamWorks Animation released the film in 2010. DreamWorks Animation followed the film up in 2010 with a sequel, which was completed in 2014. In 2019, it concluded its trilogy. Hiccup is a tiny Viking without any martial arts. He lives in an environment where dragons are constantly at war. Then he meets one of their own, and they form a bond that will last a lifetime. The films proved wildly successful for Dreamworks, raking in nearly $2 billion at the international box office across all three entries and spawning a number of TV spinoffs — including one set in the present day, 1,300 years after the first movie.
