The Whispering Keys are only able to be used for very specific chests, known as Silent Chests. Murmuring Obols can be obtained by taking part in World Events. These are indicated on the map with red and orange circles. Murmuring Obols will be distributed depending on the World Events you complete and your event participation.

These chests can contain rare and legendary items. They spawn randomly on the map. The chests have a lock icon and white lights.

Is Whispering keys worth the money?

Short answer: No.

Whispering keys are not used for anything else. It is up to luck whether you get anything worthwhile, just like with the chest spawning rate. Unless you have an excess of Murmuring Obols, we’d advise you save them and use them at the Purveyor of Curiosities to roll for Legendaries in slots you may be missing. While this is also random, there is a higher chance of obtaining a specific piece you’d like, as opposed to the random nature of opening a Silent Chest.
