How to find lightroots in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Hyrule’s lowest level is the Depths. Tears of the Kingdom – The Legend of ZeldaIt is a world of darkness that mirrors Surface. The darkness is full of gloom-afflicted enemies, lost treasures, and the threatening Yiga Clan, all of which are almost impossible to spot unless you’ve activated the nearby lightroots. LightrootsThey work similarly to Skyview Towers in that they show a part of the map. However, there are more of these towers down in the Depths.
There are how many lightroots?
The total number of The 120 LightrootsIn the Depths. On the Surface, you can find a shrine for each lightroot. If you take a closer look, you’ll find out that the name of each lightroot is just its corresponding shrine’s name backwards. The Jiosin Shrine, for example is located above the Nisoij LightrootThe Susuyai Shrine, which is located above it Iayusus Lightroot.
Find lightroots deep in the depths
Finding a Lightroot in the Depths is as simple as finding the counterpart shrine. However, some of the lightroots — like the Apapes Lightroot in the Central Hyrule Depths — can be particularly difficult to find because of the Depths’ layout.
The water features that are on the Surface act as walls, which is why certain areas have been completely walled off. You’ll need to find the specific chasm entrance to enter said areas, and they can be hidden in a cave, locked behind a quest, or even located under an entire village. If you’re having a hard time revealing a portion of your Depths map, take a note of the area on the Surface, and remember that the Depths is just a mirror of what you can see on the Surface.

The Depths is your friend with vehicles! Hover bikes are a great example of vehicles that can help you navigate the darkness. Create your own by attaching two angled fans (as in the picture above) to a steering wheel. This handy device will get you to an orange bulb in the distance as long as it has energy cells.

You can now activate the 120 lightroots. Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom, you’ll receive the Dispelling the Darkness Medal. It is not possible to add a medal function at this time, but it may happen in the future. Of course, you’ll also get light down in the Depths and a complete Depths map on your Purah Pad.
