How to do the latest duplication glitch in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Tears of the Kingdom – The Legend of ZeldaThe game has several glitches which allow players to cheat Duplicate items of materials, such as weapons, shields and swords — at least until Nintendo inevitably patches the bug out. Exploiting that glitch can earn players infinite rupees, effectively destroying the game’s economy and sapping much of the fun of playing through Tears of KingdomIt is exactly as the creators intended.

But if you’re desperate for materials or money in Tears of KingdomThe duplication glitches seem to be relatively easy and safe. You just need a bow, arrows — or a paraglider — and some patience, and hope that Nintendo won’t punish you for exploiting it at some point.

Tears of the Kingdom: How to copy materials

1. You’ll need to have a bow, melee weapon, and shield equipped.

2. Tap the ZR button to have Link switch to his bow, but don’t aim or nock an arrow.

3. The material that you wish to copy will be fused onto the arrow by pressing up on D-pad.

4. Press the plus button to pause, move to the “Bows and Arrows” tab, and drop your equipped bow.

5. As long as the Pause menu is open, you can equip another bow.

6. To close the menu, press the + button two times (very fast).

7. The fused materials should be visible on your bow and arrow.

8. Close the Pause menu by removing the bow currently in use.

9. Two bows with Fused material each should be placed on the ground.

The glitch is useful for replicating rare and expensive materials like diamonds that can sell for as little as 500 rupees per piece.

In the video, you can duplicate shields, weapons and bows. This is more complicated, since you have to save and reload the game each time.

You can duplicate shields and weapons in Tears of the Kingdom

1. Use the + button to open the Pause menu.

2. You can duplicate a weapon, shield, bow, etc. by equipping it.

3. Click on the System Menu and select a Manual Save.

How to do the new ‘fast’ duplication glitch in Tears of the Kingdom

Over the weekend of May 20 to 21, a new duplication glitch was undiscovered – useful if the above is patched out, or if you’re struggling to make it work. The glitch also works for any inventory item, but not on weapons and other gear.

You can see the video above, thanks to USBdongle6727. That said, though this dupe glitch is technically faster and easier, it has its own restrictions, which we’ll outline below.

There is a maximum number of items that can be dropped in one location. The items that are too close to each other (more than 20) will begin despawning. This means there’s a limit to how much duplicating you can do at once and you’ll have to be a little careful.

You should also be cautious about what you drop. If they can break or run off, they won’t be collected once you land. The obvious contender for duplication, diamonds, doesn’t have either problem, which is a relief.

  1. The glitch takes advantage of the way your inventory is handled by the game, so it’s important to be prepared. First, you’ll need at least one (but preferably multiple) item with less than four in your inventory. This is just an item to trigger the exploit — you’ll get it back, but it won’t be duplicated. It’s important to be able empty an inventory.
  2. You need to place the item in your last inventory slot. Dropping an item is the fastest method to get it to your last inventory slot. You can find out more about it here. of them, and then pick them up — the last item you picked up (that wasn’t already in your inventory) will go into the last slot.
  3. Then, jump from a nearby roof (or tree or ledge). Deploy your paraglider.
  4. Hit +Open your inventory.
  5. Choose an item or items to remove a slop from your inventory. Hold onto your hats it. This item won’t duplicate, but you will get it back.
  6. Select the item in your last inventory slot — the item you want to duplicate. This item can be duplicated as often as desired.
  7. Hit +Exit your Inventory and Then Immediately — as fast as you can — hit + again. The number of items you had in your initial inventory should be the same as the one you see now.
  8. Repeat this process a couple times as you float down, but no more than three or four — see our note about despawning items above.
  9. When you land, you’ll pick up your duplicated items and repeat the process above.

You’ll have to get a little creative to keep the item you want to duplicate in the last slot of your inventory, but this is a fast way to duplicate You can also find out more about the following:The item is a game.

If any of the above gets patched out — or you prefer a more legitimate way to make money in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — read Polygon’s guide on which items and materials to sell to make rupees.

Update for May 21: We’ve added a new duplication method as a section on the end of this page.
