How to Add Pizzazz to Your Shots in SnowRunner’s New Photo Mode

Hello SnowRunners!

I’m thrilled to give you a tour of an exciting new feature available in today’s free SnowRunnerUpdate: Photo Mode Along with this update, Season 6: Haul & Hustle is now available as part of the Year 2 PassXbox One: Added a large new region, with two maps and two cars!

Since then SnowRunner launched, we’ve seen countless stunning screenshots from the community, so a Photo Mode was on our radar from the get-go. Now that it’s here, players have a powerful new tool to take unforgettable shots, and we can’t wait to see them. First, I’ll briefly talk you through the settings and how they work, and then we’ll look at six tasty screens and how you can get the same effect.

Both weather and time are obvious. A light drizzle or snow in the afternoon can set the mood.

If you feel like our friend the driver is getting in the way, you can hurl him into the void by switching him “Off.” Don’t worry, we don’t think he remembers. You can switch on or off truck lights.

We then have fancy photography. It is basically brightness. Contrast is, however, the visual ratio of tones or the distinction between highlights and shadows. It may seem as though it’s brightness. It’s a powerful setting that’s fun to play around with to get it It’s just the right thing.

You can change your entire picture’s color scheme by changing hue. It is fun to do this because you have the ability to adjust the intensity and range of the colors. Do you want to transform an autumn forest into an alien-purple forest, or a bright green spring tree? You can do it! You can do it! You can crank it up to see the driver’s face go bright red, which is good fun. Again, he doesn’t mind (probably).

There are many premade options available in the photo mode, including Color Grading Intensity and Color Grading Intensity. There are 19, so there’s a lot to play around with there. Film Grain creates shadows around your border, and Vignette adds that cinematic graininess to the image.

Other than Field of View, which is the width of your view, other settings can change blur and intensity (Aperture), as well as location (Focus Point or Depth of Field SpSpan).

Now that you know how the Photo Mode works, let’s see the tool out in action! Each screenshot is given a name, and we provide some tips on how to achieve similar results.

Wrong Rainbow

SnowRunner Photo Mode

Turn the peaceful aurora borealis into an apocalyptic firestorm with “Wrong Rainbow.” Just play around with the hue until you get your desired result, then crank the saturation. You can create a great contrast between the darkening and the bright light by dipping the exposure a little.

Crunchy Mint Mountain

SnowRunner Photo Mode

For any sweeping vista, “Crunchy Mint Mountain” will get you good results. You’ll want to slide the aperture all the way down to 0%, along with film grain, removing all blur and giving you a super clean, crunchy look. Nudge the exposure a tad to the right and you’ll have your landscape looking minty fresh.

Sunset Rage

SnowRunner Photo Mode

For this one, you’ll need to flip your car, which isn’t part of the photo mode, so get a crane or just flip it the old fashioned way. To get the same look, switch over to the right time of day (“Night 2”), and pump up the contrast and saturation until Mr. Driver’s face starts to become a nice shade of purple grape. He’s fine, really. Look into his eyes and tell me he’s not having a good time.

Nuclear Winter

SnowRunner Photo Mode

If you hate colors, “Nuclear Winter” is for you. Find some sad, angry buildings, lower your hue to 0, and you’ve got yourself a postcard.

Superhero Landing

SnowRunner Photo Mode

It was more about capturing the moment at the right angle and focusing on the appropriate parts of the picture that tweaking color was involved in creating this image. The tires’ dirt and raindrops create a sense of movement that gives this image its impact. It is almost symbolic because the distant mountain becomes blurred, but it also shifts focus towards the car. You can feel the thrill of adventure!

We hope you find this showcase helpful in capturing your favourite moments. SnowRunner. Photo Mode is available now in the free update, alongside Season 6: Haul & Hustle, bringing the new Maine, USA, region and two new vehicles. Season 6 is now available in the Year 2 Pass.
