Horizon Forbidden West: Patch 1.07 Includes New Photo Mode Options, Performance Mode Improvements, And More

Horizon Forbidden West can be a huge game. The latest patch, Patch 1.07 will make it even more enjoyable. 

The patch 1.07 is now live. It contains a lot of bug fixes and new Photo Mode options. There are also improvements to the Favor Performance Mode. The patch also provides status updates and a breakdown on known issues. 

Guerilla wrote in an email that “Patch 1.07” is now available. tweet. This patch adds an “Always On” option to weapons and ammunition, as well as tools and potions to the Custom HUD options. It also includes a way to talk to Porguf about side quest Breaking Even’, among other things. To improve the image quality of Favor Performance mode, we have made several changes to vegetation and will continue our investigation into reported issues with screen saturation, sharpening, shimmering, and sharpening.

These are the patches and updates that have been made to Patch 1.07According to Guerrilla Games patch notes, it is: 

Principal Quests

  • This issue was fixed in the main quest, ‘Reach for the Stars. The quest could not proceed correctly if the second connector for the shuttle cable was shot first.
  • Fix for main quest “Reach for the Stars”: Fixed issue where player couldn’t exit the playspace.
  • This issue was fixed in Main Quest ‘The Embassy. Rushing back through Barren Light during The Embassy will result in the player getting stuck in Barren Light.
  • Correction to main quest Death’s Door: The player can now summon their mount underground.
  • Correction to an issue with main quest Death’s Door, where players couldn’t interact with consoles.
  • Correction to main quest “The Sea of Sands” where crafting the diving mask was not updated correctly, preventing progression.
  • A bug in Main Quest ‘Thebes was fixed. The player could get through a small gap in the geometry around the Underwater Powerplant to fall out of this world.

Side Quests

  • Side quest “Breaking Even” was fixed. The player couldn’t talk to Porguf in order to complete the quest, even though Talanah was present at Camp Nowhere.
  • Side quest “Shadow in the West” was updated to fix an issue where saving a saved could cause a player’s respawn outside an enclosed space.
  • Fixed an issue with side quest Blood Choke’ where Atekka might be unresponsive when approaching Thornmarsh from one direction.
  • Correction to side quest ‘A Soldier’s March’: Penttoh was unable to respond while moving toward the peak of Mount Everest, thereby preventing progression.
  • Side quest “The Second Verse”, where the objective to talk to Zo does not update after you abandon the quest halfway, was fixed.
  • Side quest ‘Nights of Lights,’ fixed issue that caused the “Gathering the Gizmo” objective not to update.

Activities in the World

  • A Gauntlet race issue was fixed. In rare instances, the race didn’t start until after it had completed a practice run.
  • Fixing an issue in Gauntlet racing where being in the last spot could have been considered as a win.
  • Gauntlet run: The Stillsands has been fixed. The player can now be directed to the Activity, before it is started.
  • A problem with the Elusive Fanghorn salvage contracts was fixed. The quest sometimes didn’t end correctly.
  • A problem with the Elusive Fanghorn salvage contracts was fixed. Machine trails wouldn’t show up if players fast traveled during an objective.
  • Fix for the “Ravager Cannon” salvage contract. The objective would not update properly if the player removed a cannon with high damage or high tear attacks.
  • A problem with the Eastern Lie Regalla camps was fixed. Aloy wouldn’t be able to load a save at the campfire and would have to place him at a new campfire.
  • Salvage Contract Ancient Relics was able to fix an issue where “Gather Ancient Relics” would still be on the 2/3 mark.
  • Regalla Camp Devil’s Grasp was updated with a fix that prevented enemies from respawning after reloading a save during “Kill the Rebel Leader”.
  • Resolved an issue with Rebel Outpost Jagged Deep that allowed the player to teleport across the entire map after reloading save games.
  • Sunken Cavern has been fixed. The Gouge allows the player to swim in a crack in the cave wall.

UI/UX

  • Added an ‘Always Off’ option for weapons & ammo, and tools & potions in the Custom HUD options.
  • Fixed several outfit icons which used incorrect inventory items.
  • A bug in the map was fixed that caused unnatural movement when the view centering on the player or quest objectives.

Graphics

  • A smoother transition from Tropospheric to Cirrus cloud layers has been made. The color of the supercell Anvil, as well as the Cirrus clouds, is better matched.
  • Problem with Very Large Array Tallneck. The model was showing low levels of detail when viewed from a certain distance.
  • To improve the image quality of Favor Performance mode, I made multiple adjustments to the vegetation.
  • Fixes flickering white light issue in Main Quest ‘Death’s Door’
  • Filmtics have improved depth-of-field stability
  • Extreme closeups: SSAO reduces stepping artifacts
  • Saturation changes on motion blur are lessened
  • Stability and quality of shadows have been improved.
  • Specific situations may result in a higher quality lawn.

Performance and stability

  • Multiple crash fixes.
  • Fixed several instances where NPCs and textures would visibly stream in on PS4™ when the player approached a settlement at high speed.
  • Fixed several cases where black or loading screens were triggering unintentionally.
  • Fixed an issue when streaming was stopped after the ending credits sequence.

Improvements to Photo Mode

  • Precision mode has a higher level of precision, which allows for greater control over orienting the camera and how it moves. This is especially important when you use long focal lengths or large apertures.
  • This has allowed for macro photography and creative shots at a shorter distance.
  • The film was changed to 35mm Full Frame, which allows for a clearer focal length, DOF translation and intuitive selections of focal lengths by virtual photographers.
  • Many focal lengths have been added to allow for greater creativity.
  • For the default camera, a FoV match was added.
  • Photographers can now use Aloy for a greater distance of 5-10 metres.
  • You can make small improvements in your quality of life.
  • Hide UI allows you to hide the Rule of Third grid and Auto Focus rectangle.
  • A bug was fixed that caused a moire effect to be apparent on the skin of characters in close-up shots.

Others

  • Camera collisions could sometimes happen when players were mounted or maneuvering close to obstacles at a given height.
  • Numerous animation problems with NPCs within settlements were fixed
  • For game balance purposes, slightly increased ammo costs for the Propelled Spike weapon technology.
  • Aloy got stuck in geometry at the Memorial Grove settlement while trying to leap through a crack in the wall. This was fixed.
  • Problem fixed: The game wouldn’t hang after you skip the ending credits.
  • Problem fixed in that the PS5 Operating System “Game Presets” difficulty could override difficulty levels within-game
  • Fixes an issue in which interactable objects lost collision sometimes, leading to the player falling through the object.
  • Fixes an issue that caused the player to fall while fast-traveling on a mount.

“We’re currently investigating several community-reported issues. This patch does not address these issues, but teams are working to fix them.

  • This patch contains several improvements to vegetation that will improve the image quality of the Favor Performance Mode. We would appreciate your comments. Our team continues to look into reported issues with screen saturation, sharpening and shimmering.
  • A few players complained that Firegleam icons didn’t get deleted from the map upon interaction with them. We will fix this soon!
  • Some players reported hearing certain tracks repeatedly during their playthrough. Although we’ve made some changes to patch 1.06 in order to stop this from happening, we are still investigating if there is a way for those players that are having this issue. Use the Support Form to upload a video showing where the music is being heard.
