Honkai: Star Rail’s group texts are unhinged
Group text chats are like hydras — delete one and somehow two more will crop up its place. Whether you love them or hate them, they’re a part of every user’s life. Apparently, they’re also a part of the sci-fi world of Honkai: Star RailSpace adventure game from Genshin Impact developer, Hoyoverse. Honkai: Star Rail’s universe isn’t all that different from ours in this sense. The characters text each other constantly, as they save worlds or fight cosmic beings. Their unhinged exchanges show off the individual charms of the different characters.
This mobile game and computer game follow the Trailblazer – a young man with cosmic abilities who embarks on an interplanetary journey after board an interstellar interstellar express called the Astral Express. On their travels, they’re joined by two friends: a bubbly girly girl named March 7th, who loves to take selfies, and a cold swordsman named Dan Heng, who’d rather stay in and read. The three players embarked on an expedition in the early parts of the story that would determine the fates of the inhabitants of an icy world and the planet itself.
Given the dire circumstances, the Trailblazer should probably use their phone to communicate important information with other characters, like updates on quests, but they mainly use it to shoot the shit. Fans have shared their favorites snippets of these conversations on sites like TikTok. In the conversation shown in the recording below, renowned intergalactic scientist Herta asks the Trailblazer to test some of her new technology, to which they respond “beg me~”.
You join the group chat when you board the Astral Express so that everyone can hear important announcements. One day, Asta, the boss of the researchers in this group chat, explains that you were added against their rules. Arlan, an adorable boy who texts you on the other hand, runs out of cash and ends their conversation abruptly. Then, March 7th is a sweet girl who you endear to all the other chatters by sending cute emojis.
These conversations are not only a great way to learn about people, but also a funny and sweet way to describe them.
The Astral Express, and planets that follow it, are not without cell phones. Your character’s phone will be checked when you stop the game. Each character also has a unique case. In Belobog, a major city early in the game, you can interact with a phone booth, and an omniscient narrator will just tell you that the only reason you find it novel is because you’re from the mobile age. Cell phones are prominent in the game, which is a fun way of acknowledging how many people use them. Honkai: Star Rail. As mobile players tap along on their phones, they’ll be texting with all their friends.
