Hideo Kojima is working on a new Xbox game

Hideo Kojima has been working on a project together with Xbox Game Studios. This was announced by Microsoft and Kojima Productions Sunday at the Xbox and Bethesda Gaming Showcase. Kojima’s next game is still something of a mystery, however. Microsoft and Kojima only revealed plans to work together on a new title, but they did not disclose any gameplay details.

Kojima described the project as a “completely new game” and one that Kojima himself “has always wanted to make.” And it sounds like Kojima Productions’ new game will utilize Microsoft’s cloud gaming technology for … whatever Kojima wants to make.

Kojima is most well-known for his creation and management of the Metal Gear franchise at Konami. Kojima Productions was his new company. He left the Konami corporation in 2015 to create Kojima Productions. Kojima Productions’ most recent game is Death Stranding, the studio’s 2019 debut title. This game, which was initially a PlayStation 4 exclusive, was created as part of a partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment.
