Here’s A New Look At Steelrising, A Souls-like Set In 1700s France

Steelrising is the new Souls-like title from Greedfall developer Spiders. Tonight, it made its most recent appearance at the annual Game Awards. This event showcased new views at the story and characters as well as the monsters.

Steelrising has a striking artistic direction that is immediately noticeable. Ostensibly the game’s protagonist appears to be a cross between a marionette doll, and Dishonored 2’s clockwork soldiers. The game is set in 17th-century France. There’s plenty of grime and darkness in this world. Many enemies in the trailer look like they are wearing custom armor suits or clockwork designs.

The trailer is below.

Steelrising was First time announcedIt was back in July 2020. It takes place in Paris, during the French Revolution. Players will be competing against King Luis XVI and his robotic army. The game was originally expected to launch sometime in the year after its initial announcement. However, that date has been delayed.
