Here’s a first look at Amazon’s Fallout TV series
The Fallout video games are famous for three things: nuclear wastelands following a war between the United States and China, ‘50s inspired retro-futurism, and giant subterranean survival shelters called Vaults. For those awaiting visual confirmation, Amazon’s forthcoming Fallout Television series will most likely have at least one.
Shared via Twitter in celebration of Fallout’s 25th birthday, our first look at the Prime Original series is pretty coy but also very faithful to the game’s aesthetic. You can see Vault 33’s members watching as someone stares at you in bright sunlight. It is the moment when the Vault door opens for the first, which happens in almost every Fallout game.
The shot is very accurate in its aesthetics. While the Vault door still retains the bank vault-like look from the games, the jumpsuits made of blue and yellow seem to be faithful. Close inspection at the Vault entry reveals the familiar shape the PipBoy wrist computer. Look even closer and there’s a hint of violence, as the boots of what may be a dead person are visible behind some railing.
This is a great fan service. As a bit of marketing for a forthcoming TV show, there’s not much to grab onto. The cast present isn’t recognizable nor is there a hint of what the story may be, but it’s still early: the FalloutShow does not have an official release date.
This, as well as many other details, are currently kept under wraps. The executive producer was Westworld’s Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy and starring Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets) Walton GogginsThe Righteous Gemstones), FalloutIt is currently in production, and will be the second post-apocalypse videogame to reach TV. Last of UsNext year, HBO will have the following games. There are many games you can view! Future is bananas.
