Hellblade II: Senua’s Sacrifice Gameplay Revealed At The Game Awards
Developer Ninja Theory presented Hellblade II: Senua’s Sacrifice as the opening act at the Game Awards Show.
Trailer opens with Senua, the protagonist, entering a cave along with her allies. Outside is a large and humanoid beast. The team confronts the beast and sets it ablaze after it enters the cave. Senua’s crew quickly goes into flames and the monster slams around trying to strike back. Senua is seen by the rest of the crew, and they retreat, desperately trying to flee and take revenge as much as possible.
Senua’s and her team’s attempts to stop the creature from chasing them out of the cave continue to fail as the beast continues to smash into surrounding buildings. Senua asks the creature for her help. Senua responds, telling the creature, “I know” and then a voice in her head saying “It’s You.” This is the end of the trailer.
Host Geoff Keighley said at the end of the trailer that what we were watching wasn’t a cinematic, but real gameplay, though it was hard to tell how interactive anything shown off in the trailer actually was – the camera was constantly whipping around during the trailer, seemingly indicating at least part of it was, in fact, cinematics. Everything we saw was in-engine, at the most.
Hellblade II: Senua’s Sacrifice is coming to Xbox Series X/S as well as PC. You can also purchase it through Xbox Game Pass. There was no release date.
