HBO’s The Last of Us TV series gets January release date

At long last, The Last of Us live-action adaptation for HBO has a premiere date — one that HBO Max subscribers may have noticed on the title page for the show.

The streaming service has quietly revealed the release date: in the United States on Last of UsSeason 1 Sneak Peak A text description on page reveals the show’s arrival date of Jan. 15. In the meantime, Jan. 16 appears to be the U.K.’s release date.

Based on Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic adventure game of the same name, Last of UsPedro Pascal is one of the starsMandalorian, Game of Thrones) as Joel and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones, HildaEllie. All of the first glimpses have been remarkably faithful to the game.

This series is created by Craig Mazin, the creator and writer behind HBO’s Chernobyl. Led by Game of ThronesBreakthrough stars Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal will be playing Joel. Gabriel Luna will be appearing in the series.Terminator: Dark FateTommy Torv () and Anna TorvMindhunterTess. Neil Druckmann, from Naughtydog (the studio behind The Last of Us) is producing the series and will executive produce it.

Last of UsThe first season will consist of 10 episodes.
