Halo Infinite season 3 release time, what to expect from Echoes Within

Halo Infinite season 3 is around the corner, and it’s poised to revitalize the multiplayer shooter. Season 3, formally titled “Echoes Within,” not only adds new maps and modes but also sees the first significant changes to the game’s sandbox (no, nerfing the mangler doesn’t count). Here’s what to expect, including when Halo InfiniteSeason 3 is available in your time zone.

When will Halo Infinite’s third season premiere?

Halo InfiniteThe third season begins Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Developer 343 Industries hasn’t yet specified the exact start time, but historically, Halo InfiniteUpdates are available at 10:00 AM PST. Here’s when Halo InfiniteSeason 3 should live in your area time zone.

What’s new in Halo Infinite season 3?

There are many quality-of-life updates and other welcome news. Halo InfiniteSeason 3 features new maps, new cosmetics and even a brand new weapon. Let’s break it down.

Halo Infinite season 3, new maps

Halo InfiniteThe rotation will include a lot of new maps in season 3. The majority of these maps are intended for Arena playlists, which pit two teams each of four against one another. One map is meant for Big Team Battle (two groups of 12). These are the confirmed additions to Arena playlists.

• ChasmThis Arena map is clearly inspired by the Forerunner structure, which comprises the second mission. Halo Infinite’s campaign. Remember the gap
• Cliffhanger is a mid-sized Arena map — think closer in scale to Launch Site than to Live Fire — with a bunch of man cannons. The Charlotte Kickoff Major grand finals saw it displayed.
• Oasis is a Big Team Battle map that’s directly inspired by Exile, one of the best Big Team Battle maps from Halo 4The best Halo game.

Echoes Within will highlight a playlist featuring the Arena maps in its first week. The playlist will then be featured on Echoes Within’s second week with a playlist that includes only Oasis.

Halo InfiniteSeason 2 was completed with the Community Collection playlist. This spotlights the best Arena maps created in the Forge creation mode. The playlist will continue to be updated in season 3. A map of this type. Art’s Room — a stage set in a teenager’s room, giving the visual impression that Spartans have been Ant-Man’d — was shown off during the trailer for Halo InfiniteSeason 3 was not released by 343 but it is expected to be available in the future.

Halo Infinite season 3, new modes

Sorry folks! Halo Infinite season 3 won’t launch with Infection out of the gate. Instead, we’re getting two back-to-back events and a twist on Halo’s classic “gun game”:

• This is the big plus Escalation SlayerThe ‘, which alters your gear loadout after every kill. As you gain more points, you get better equipment and guns. You can view the complete list here. The catch is that, if you get hit by a melee attack from behind, you’ll go back one tier. Escalation Slayer can be played in either team- or free-for all versions.
• Season 3’s first event is called “Mindfall,” which appears to continue the so-far utterly barebones “story” of Infinite’s multiplayer mode. The game runs from March 7 through March 20. A second one, “Site Unseen,” is planned for an unspecified date later in the season.
• Season 3’s second event is a Fracture — recurring playlists that cycle in throughout the season. Fractures are a way to get non-traditional Halo cosmetics, such as samurai- or WWII-themed armor set. This one is called “Firewall,” and it’s a safe bet you’ll nab the Chimera armor core from this one. It’ll run from March 20 to March 27.

Halo Infinite season 3, new gear

Halo InfiniteSeason 3 will bring two new items to the Sandbox. Both of these are sure to shake up meta.

• Bandit rifleThis is a single shot rifle. It looks and acts like a single-shot rifle. Halo 4’s DMR, developers and pros who’ve played it pre-release say functions similar to the pistol sidearm from Halo 5: Guardians.
• Shroud screen is a piece of equipment that’s… Look, it’s basically just a smoke bomb.

Halo Infinite Season 3: New Cosmetics

Halo Infinite’s new cosmetics will be largely be unlockable through season 3’s 100-level battle pass (available as both a free paid version), with others rolling out on a rotational weekly basis in Infinite’s microtransaction store. Some of these cosmetics will apply to the standard armor cores you already have, but most will apply to the two new sets you’ll get in Echoes Within: Mirage and Chimera.
