Halo Infinite gets Forge mode, network co-op, and mission replay
343 Industries released Tuesday’s key game modes. Halo InfiniteIt was almost a full year ago, just after the December 2021 launch.
Halo Infinite’s big winter update brings in features like Forge, the map and game editor, campaign co-op (but not couch co-op), and campaign mission replay. The patch also introduced new play modes and maps to the multiplayer battle pass. The update was released by 343 Industries for the Xbox Series X as well as Windows PC.
Halo InfiniteIt has been through both a rough pre-launch, and post-launch rollout. It was released without core features such as campaign co-op and Forge mode, which were delayed. Although couch co-op is not coming to the game today, campaign cooperative play will still be available online.
The big winter update launches a few days after head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty delivered another candid assessment of the game’s development and launch. Booty explained that Halo Infinite’s live service plan “fell short” and compared the release to the “classic runner’s mistake of tripping and stumbling as you come across the finish line.”
So, although it’s been a long time coming, if you still have it in your heart to give Halo Infinite Another chace: Today would be an excellent day to get back in.
