Halo Co-Creator Marcus Lehto Opens New EA Studio Focused On First-Person Games
Marcus Lehto, co-creator of Halo, has established a new EA Studio primarily focused upon first-person games. This is approximately seven months after V1 Interactive closed its doors. V1 Interactive was founded by Lehto to create Disintegration.
Lehto and SOCOM creator Michael Gutmann founded V1 Interactive in 2016. The studio created Disintegration and while the game showed a lot of promise, it wasn’t met with the reception the team had hoped for. V1 Interactive stated that they were closing their doors on March 8.This was earlier in the year. Now, seven months after the event, Lehto can be found making more games again, but this time, it is under EA’s umbrella.
Hey everyone, I’m very excited to announce that I’ve joined EAAs a Game Director I am responsible for building and managing a studio in Seattle that focuses on creating first-person gaming experiences. I can’t wait to share more about what we’re creating.

As Lehto mentions in the tweet above, this new studio will be focused on first-person games, which falls right in line with Lehto’s Halo history. Perhaps he’s making a sci-fi first-person shooter for EA, something the company doesn’t have too many of at this moment.
