GTA Trilogy returns to Steam with Definitive Edition PC release

Rockstar Games released the Windows PC version of its GTA Trilogy on Steam on Thursday, expanding the remastered trio of games’ availability on PC beyond the Rockstar Games Launcher.

The Steam version is listed as “playable” on Steam Deck.

Rockstar has also announced that it would be releasing Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition on the Epic Games Store “later in January.”

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive EditionOriginal release: November 11, 2021. It was replaced by the previous versions on numerous platforms. GTA3, Vice CityPlease see the following: San Andreas. But on Steam, Rockstar simply delisted the original versions of its early ’00s GTA games, making them unavailable for sale. You can only buy them on Steam. Grand Theft Auto Trilogy on PC was through Rockstar’s own store.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive EditionThe collection is available on Nintendo Switch (PS4), PlayStation 5 (5/7/7/8/10/12/12/12), Xbox One (1/1/12/12) and Xbox Series X (12/12/12). In 2023, the collection will hit Android and iOS.

The Definitive Edition Trilogy launched with a bang in the late 2021. Remastered games were plagued by technical and visual issues. Players complained that some of them were worse than classics. Rockstar apologized for the games’ quality at launch, and gave players PC versions of the originals (but only through the Rockstar Games Launcher) as a make-good. Rockstar released a number of patches to fix glitches, graphical problems and improve the game’s performance over time.

Rockstar Games’ next big project is Grand Theft Auto 6.. Developer has not revealed much about its next-step after the hugely successful. Grand Theft Auto 5.
