GTA 5 enhanced & expanded remaster offers 4K, ray tracing, 60 fps options
If Grand Theft Auto 5 makes the leap to current-generation consoles — PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X — in March, the newest version of Rockstar Games’ crime epic will offer three graphics settings that will let players tailor their experience to their needs. On Friday, Rockstar detailed just how the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the “enhanced and expanded” GTA 5They will be available on all platforms.
GTA 5’s Fidelity Mode is “tuned for the highest visual quality” and targets 30 frames per second. Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X will have native 4K resolution with ray tracing disabled. Fidelity Mode on Xbox Series S will provide upscaled 4K resolution.
The game’s Performance Mode is “tuned for the most responsive gameplay experience” and targets 60 fps. The 60-fps gaming experience on PS5 or Xbox Series X will be displayed at upscaled 4K resolution. Series S runs at 1080p resolution.

Rockstar reaffirmed its wider visual improvement efforts to GTA 5These improvements include quicker load times, better lighting, shadows, water reflections, increased population density, traffic variety and greater vegetation densities. The new version of GTA 5 will also include “highly detailed new explosions.”
Rockstar’s DualSense controller features, including haptic feedback (and adaptive trigger) were also showcased on PlayStation 5. The new DualSense controller haptic feedback and adaptive trigger features will give players new sensory experiences for weather effects, road surface damage, and explosions.
Rockstar has also confirmed that players will have the option to transfer their accounts. GTA 5 story saves (and their GTA Online progress) to the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions — and that one-time transfer carries cross-generation and cross-platform. Players can now upload save data through Rockstar Games Social Club as of Friday.
