God Of War Series Ordered At Amazon Prime Video, Cory Barlog Will Executive Produce

PlayStation earlier this year revealed that the company was creating new TV series based upon Gran Turismo, Horizon and God of War. PlayStation Productions stated that the Horizon series would be hosted by Netflix. You can read more about it here. The God of War series will be handled by Amazon. But that was all. 

This is a bit more information about the God of War Series, thanks to Amazon Prime VideoAccording to Deadline. Amazon Prime Video has granted God of War a series ordering. The title refers to the PlayStation franchise, which just got a sequel. The series will not be set during Kratos’ gritty Greek history, but rather in the Norse era. Prime Video will be executive producing the series, which is directed by Cory Barlog from God of War (2018). 

This series follows Kratos and his son Atreus as they travel to the top of all realms in order to scatter his wife’s ashes. Hawk Ostby, Mark FergusIron Man, Children of MenRafe Judkins will also be writing the series.The Wheel of TimeThe showrunner will be (). 

President of Sony Pictures Television Studios Katherine Pope said, “We are so proud to be working alongside our friends at Amazon Studios as well as our partners at PlayStation Productions in adapting this beautiful and heartbreaking video game into a premium series.” Hawk, Mark and Rafe are creating a series about the transportive journey through Kratos’ ancient mythological story. 

Barlog will executive produce the series alongside Fergus And Otsby. The project also has other producers, including Asad Qizilbash from PlayStation Productions, Carter Swan and Yumi Yang of Santa Monica Studio and Vertigo’s Roy Lee. Deadline. Jeff Ketcham, Santa Monica Studio’s executive producer of the series will also be involved.

Qizilbash states that God of War has been awarded many PlayStation games and is excited to team up with Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television to “bring our beloved franchise to new fans in bold, authentic ways.” Deadline.
