Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel returns to New York City

In addition to news that Ghostbusters will soon be streaming an animated Ghostbusters series, Sony Pictures and Ghost Corps also announced Wednesday that they would be releasing the next live-action sequel to Ghostbusters in 2021. Ghostbusters: Afterlife will return to the series’ home base: New York City. This means that the series will be returning to New York City, where it all started.

Variety reported on the announcement, noting that Ghost Corps’ Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan revealed the news as part of the annual Ghostbusters Day celebration.

Reitman, Kenan and Kenan announced that a Ghostbusters animated film is in production with Sony Pictures Animation. This movie will be a location-based virtual reality experience. Ghostbusters VR AcademyDeveloper Hologate,Dark Horse also released a Ghostbusters comic. The Ghostbusters VR2 virtual reality game by nDreams, as well as the Meta Quest 2 version previously announced, will now be available on PlayStation VR2.
