Ghost of Tsushima Is An Honorable Samurai Blockbuster, Over 8 Million Copies Sold

Ghost of Tsushima pays tribute to Akira Kurosawa’s filmography. It’s not surprising that Sucker Punch, the visually striking action/aventure game from Sucker Punch would enjoy the same success that the original samurai films that it inspired. Ghost of Tsushima remains popular with over 8 million copies.

A recent tweet (seen above) revealed the game’s newest milestone: “We’re thrilled and amazed that Ghost of Tsushima has officially sold more than 8 million copies! Thanks to everyone who played the game since launch. “We are so grateful and appreciative for your support.”

Ghost of Tsushima has a large player base, so it’s not surprising. Ghost of Tsushima stands out from the rest with its cutting-edge graphics, fluid combat mechanics and flashy animations. Game Informer‘s Matt Miller was a fan of the vanilla title and awarded it a 9.5. His impression piece for the Director’s Cut echoed Matt Miller’s glowing review, while addressing the additional content.

I was delighted by the Iki island expansion’s breadth and depth. It will make an already long adventure even more enjoyable for new players. Returning players will be delighted at the seamless integration of this adventure into an already great game. Iki Island is the best single-player expansions. As if that wasn’t enough, Sucker Punch now has an outstanding property on which to keep building.

Ghost of Tsushima’s art direction is amazing. I’ve enjoyed playing the Director’s Cut. Your thoughts about Sucker Punch’s latest IP? Please comment below.
