Gamescom Opening Night Live Will Feature New Looks At Sonic Frontiers, Hogwarts Legacy, and More

Next week’s Gamescom will kick off with Opening Night Live. This annual showcase of trailers and reveals hosted by Geoff Keighley, is the opening night. The presentation is generally on par with E3 or Summer Game Fest when it comes to significant news, and we now know a few of the major titles that will appear.

Summer Game Fest Twitter page revealedONL will host world premieres of Sonic Frontiers and Hogwarts Legacy as well as Return to Monkey Island, The Callisto Protocol and Sonic Frontiers. That usually means we’ll get new trailers for each game, whether they be gameplay, story, or both. Of course, other titles will be shown as well including Dying Light 2’s Bloody Ties DLC .

Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed until February. We will now be able to see it for the first time since March’s reveal. Both Sonic Frontiers, and The Callisto Protocol were featured in this issue. Game Informer’s cover the last couple of months, and this may be one of the last big marketing pushes before they arrive later this year. The firm date for Return to Monkey Island’s launch is also expected to be this year.  

Gamescom Opening Night Live is streamed online on August 23. The two-hour event begins at 11 a.m. Pacific/2 p.m. Eastern.
