Fortnite x Dragon Ball Super event detailed, including skins, gliders, quests, and more
Epic Games officially revealed the Dragon Ball Crossover Event that begins in Fortnite today, Aug. 16 — and it’s a big one. There’s more here than even yesterday’s fairly extensive leak suggested.
Across a short trailer, a gameplay video (which was the basis of yesterday’s leak) and a detailed blog post, Epic confirmed that Son Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and Beerus have arrived in the game as skins. The trio bring with them a variety of activities, inside and outside the game. Fortnite’s battle royale mode.
These skins are made in an elegant cel-shaded style and can be found in the Item Shop. Vegeta and Goku both have three alternative styles as well as built-in charging up Emotes. They also sell separate universal versions for their charging up motes. Bulma includes a Lab Coat alternative.
A new “Power Unleashed!” tab has been added to the game, with quests and rewards available to all players until Aug. 30. Completing quests raises players’ power level and awards them Dragon Balls, as well as rewards like back bling, emotes, sprays, and battle pass levels. The Shenron Glider is awarded to players who complete all quests, which are based on Dragon Ball lore.
For the duration of Dragon Ball, Bounty Boards on the island were replaced by Versus Boards. If two players interact with these boards, they’ll be revealed on each other’s maps and given five minutes to find each other, defeat their opponent and claim victory.
As the storm winds down, more Dragon Ball-themed merchandise will be dropping from the sky to the ground. The famous Kamehameha allows you to unleash Goku’s energy beam on your foes, while the Nimbus Cloud lets you fly around the island. Bulma is located on the Kame House, a small island just off the mainland. Here you can talk to her and trade Bars for powerful items.
Tournament of Power will be held in three hour slots on Aug. 18. In this playlist, players won’t be allowed to use Nimbus Cloud or Kamehameha items.
