Former Riot, Blizzard Devs Reveal Teaser For Competitive Shooter Inspired By Anime And Comics

Mountaintop Studios’ first teaser of its competitive shooting game in development, inspired by manga, anime and comics, has been released.

Mountaintop Studios was founded in 2020 by Nate Mitchell. Mitchell is the co-founder and CEO of Oculus. Mitchell recruited several other studio leaders with previous experience from Double Fine, Valve Naughty dog, Riot Games and Blizzard. The studio now has over four dozen staff and they are hard at work creating a game that will hopefully have 10,000 hours of content and create incredible communities.

While its first game remains unannounced technically, Mountaintop tweeted a short teaser today with the caption, “Soon.” Hopefully, we will get more information about the game soon because this teaser looks interesting. You can see it below.

The video shows some characters from the game. They all look comic-bookish, and have a stylized appearance. There are symbols that could indicate different factions, while the trailer seems to show a couple of maps.

“For the last three years, we’ve been hard at work on our first project, a competitive shooter for those that love the genre,” a hiring post from last month reads on the studio’s website. “As we shift into production, we’re looking for more talented individuals to join our time of fully-remote veterans.

The game takes place in an entirely new world, which is inspired by comics, manga, anime and other popular media. It’s a world where players can build a legacy through teamwork and competition.”

We’ll watch for more information on Mountaintop’s first game and update you on Game Informer.
