FLCL is back with two new seasons arriving in 2023

Toonami celebrates its 25th year on March 17, the legendary programming block dedicated to Japanese animation. Adult Swim has announced two seasons of its surreal science-fiction coming-of age anime, Toonami, to mark this occasion. FLCLThe title FLCL: Grunge FLCL: Shoegaze, are currently in production, and streamed a first look video of the former featuring “Ride on Shooting Star” by The Pillows.

Jason DeMarco, creative director of Toonami and senior vice president of action and anime for WarnerMedia, confirmed on Twitter that both seasons will air sometime in 2023, while a third series, the original horror anime Housing Complex C directed by Yūji Nara and produced by studio Akatsuki, will premiere later this year.

FLCLThe anime premiered on Adult Swim’s 2000 channel. It was first broadcast in America in 2003 by Adult Swim. Two sequels were previously made to the anime. FLCL Alternative FLCL ProgressiveThis was broadcast in 2018.
