This time, the focus is on a multi-chapter branching narrative. The publisher states that your choices in one chapter determine the outcome of the next. There are multiple periods in the game, each with its own sealed box containing brand new parts. The game is a hybrid of an evolving, modern-day role-playing experience and one that is more traditional.
The game’s main characters sound like an absolute delight. They are all the work of Master Merilious, a wizard who made them for his daily tasks. Flicker is the Candletinder fairy who turns on the lights, and Chalk does the manual labor. Blaze is a described as a “vulpine spirit” who helps keep the wizard fed. Meanwhile, Gribbert the frog used to be a human — a notorious bandit, in fact — who was irreversibly cursed by a witch.
