Exploring The History And Lore Of Metroid Fusion | Video Gameography
Season one of Game InformerVideo Gameography explores Metroid’s history. Metroid Fusion, Samus’ acclaimed Game Boy Advance release is this week’s topic.
Metroid Fusion launched on November 17, 2002 – the same day as Metroid Prime. Developed by Nintendo R&D1, it stars Samus as she explores a space station overrun by shapeshifting parasites called X. Even worse, Samus finds herself being chased by an X-parasite that mimics her appearance and abilities. Metroid Fusion was a 2D remake of Super Metroid’s 2D gameplay, with improvements like faster traversal and traversal as well as a ledge grab. Fusion received critical acclaim as being one of the greatest GBA games. Some fans consider it to be a contender for Super Metroid’s title as the best. From the time of the Metroid Dread in 2021, Fusion was the last chapter in the Metroid story.
