Exclusive First Look At Marvel Strike Force's Original Spider-Verse Character - Gamezon

Scopely, Marvel Strike Force’s developer, revealed Kestrel 2021. This character was the first to feature an all-original design in their massive mobile RPG. It had been created with Marvel. Kestrel was the mysterious founder of STRIKE, an in-universe corporation for which this game is named. The studio also revealed Deathpool later that year. This character was an original creation that envisioned what a child from Deadpool and Death might look like and how they would act. The studio’s 60th anniversary saw the birth of Spider-Man, and Deathpool is originally a Deadpool 30th anniversary character.

Marvel reached out to us with the 60th anniversary of Spider-Man and asked if they could create a Spider-Verse original character. – no pressure there,” Marvel Strike Force creative director Sean Dugan says with a chuckle. This is a big job because it’s both a Spider-Verse and Marvel character. What is the best way to come up with something fresh, new, and unique that’s not seen anywhere else in Spider-Verse yet? So our team started gathering ideas and one of the things that came up was the notion of this Navajo figure, the Spider Woman Na’ashjeii Asdzáá.”

Scopely revealed this exclusively through Game InformerAs part of a Tangled Web team that also includes Spider-Man (2099), and Spider-Man (1999), Spider-Weaver will be the third character to join Marvel Strike Force. Scopely will leave this team with the other characters as a trio to allow players to decide who is best in the fourth or fifth spot.

Dugan states that “Tangled Web will be our new PvP force in Cosmic Crucible.” Their addition will be a significant one on top of Unlimited X-Men or Wakandans. The Tangled Web team is going to be a three-person team – we’re going to have Spider-Weaver, we’re going to have Spider-Man (Noir), and Spider-Man (2099). You have that three-person core and then you have two slots to add other characters. It will be possible for everyone to make their own version of the Crucible, using the Tangled Web.

Scopely does not see any specific characters being the Tangled Web trio’s sure-fire additions, but all three have the Spider-Verse tag which allows them to work with characters in that part of the Marvel Universe. Dugan states that it all depends on what you do with the tags and theming.[Maybe you can]You should get some damage agents like Electro. Symbiote Spider-Man still has a strong following, but there are some other pairings that work well such as Cloak and Dagger (or The Eternals). This is what I like about having these three-person teams. Then there’s a couple more. The players have a lot more options.

The Backstory

Spider-Weaver was actually Ajei Benally. A long line of Navajo sheavers gave her birth. Scopely calls Ajei “brilliant, extroverted”. Ajei attended college in Las Vegas. However, while she was gone, her grandmother mysteriously fell ill. She couldn’t keep weaving the textiles which paid for Ajei’s tuition.

Ajei was determined to uncover the cause of her grandmother’s disease and seek a remedy. Ajei remembered the tales of Na’ashjeii Asdzáá, the Navajo spider deity who protects and guides those in need, and she set off on a mission to find her. After venturing out into the desert, she placed her hand on a glistening spider web. As soon as she touched the web, she felt a pain shoot through her hand. The web was soon broken by a spider, which she found in its middle.

After returning home, she came down with a fever and began having visions of Na’ashjeii Asdzáá. The deity told Ajei about the Web of Life and Destiny and that a powerful being was tainting her grandmother’s thread in order to curse the Na’ashjé’ii At’ééd’s past and future weavers. However, Na’ashjeii Asdzáá told Ajei that she could free Ajei’s grandmother and protect the web if she agreed to help her.

Ajei began weaving after she had woken up from the dream. She managed to produce mystical silk that transformed into a uniform featuring a spider design. Ajei presented the mysterious silk to her grandmother. Ajei then grew spider arms that she used as a cleanser for the Web of Life. Her grandmother was healed. Now that her grandmother is safe, Ajei decided to protect Na’ashjeii Asdzáá, the Web, and other weavers who might come under attack. As Spider-Weaver, she does this in the same outfit that she made. The being who tainted Ajei’s grandmother returned her to Las Vegas, Nevada. She was determined to follow the same path.

Spider-Weaver, unlike many Spider-Verse friends is a Global Mystic Protector Hero. Spider-Man (Noir), and Spider-Man (2099), follow the same pattern as the rest of the Spider-Verse heroes in Marvel Strike Force. They also retain their City Bio tags. Both Spider-Man (2099), and Spider-Man(Noir) play an important role in the Tangled Web team. Dugan however describes Spider-Weaver to be the anchoring figure.

“We haven’t had Spider-Verse Protector characters, so it was fun to play with the idea. [Na’ashjeii Asdzáá]”Spider-Weaver was chosen as a protector of humanity and a good benefactor. The gameplay mechanics will allow her to heal, buff and place defensive barriers on the team. This will also help reduce attacks. Her accuracy is destroyed, which means that enemy teams will be going missing. This is a new mechanic where enemies will not be allowed to hit her and her teammates. She and the rest of her squad are then going to have the ability to deal damage and use a lot debuffs to make the enemy teams very sticky in Cosmic Crucible.

Scopely’s original two characters (Kestrel, Deathpool) still have a lot of value in the meta despite Marvel Strike Force evolving at an incredibly fast pace. With that in mind, players should expect Spider-Weaver to also be quite useful outside of Cosmic Crucible, even if that’s where Tangled Web will shine the brightest.

A web that is becoming increasingly complicated

It can be difficult to build an efficient roster with hundreds of characters in Marvel Strike Force. Sean Dugan is the creative director and suggests that younger players try to farm teams such as The Defenders or Avengers. However, long-standing players are likely to have more fish to fry. Marvel Strike Force’s 2022 work has been focused on the Apocalypse Saga. It features four Legendary characters who each have their own teams and will serve as the Horsemen of X-Men in the big bad Apocalypse. Rogue with her Unlimited X-Men and Morgan Le Fay’s Darkhold teams, as well as Rogue and Rogue from Rogue’s Unlimited X-Men teams, are all we have so far. Red Hulk is on his way and will be joining the Gamma Team. The timing of a new team, which is likely to be important, requiring players’ resources seems disadvantageous, considering the characters that need to be leveled, upgraded, and equipped. Scopely believes that Spider-Weaver and Spider-Man (2099) are still worthwhile to be built.

“We try to make sure that every character is compelling in their own way – that every character has different utility, different value, and is as exciting and as interesting as possible,” Dugan says. Tangled Web and other characters are useful for Cosmic Crucible. But they also have utility in upcoming events. Dugan says that there will be limited opportunities over the year for Tangled Web to help with the Apocalypse goal.

The team arrives at a time when there is a shortage of available characters. Many of these characters have been around for months but are not yet farmable. This includes the powerful Ikaris and Sersi members of The Eternals. They were introduced to the game in October 2002. Dugan states that it is important to ensure there are times when characters can be accessed a bit more privately and may take longer to reach. However, they will gradually increase in availability to all. Then, there is a mixture where we want to ensure that characters that are truly interesting and compelling are immediately available to everyone so it’s not a difficult task to balance all these other things. Recently, a lot has been paid to making certain that useful characters from various sources are easily accessible. Some of the Web Warriors, like Ghost-Spider or Scarlet Spider have seen their Raid Stores and Arena Stores updated. This has allowed them to be more easily farmable. We listen carefully to what players want when they ask us, “Hey, when is this character going to be made available?” “We listen and we figure out how to get it out to them.”

A series of long-running events over a month is one way that players can get new characters. These extended events have many shorter events that feed into them and players can earn shards to buy characters such as Mighty Thor, Hulkbuster or Abomination. These events will continue in the short term, so players should plan to participate. “I don’t want to say what we will be a year from now or anything like that, but we like these opportunities where the events that we have during the course of a month can fit together that if as a player you feel like there’s always something fun for me to be doing, something fun for me to be chasing, and each individual piece fits into a higher goal, that’s appealing,” Dugan says. Dugan says, “I love that and I hope the fans enjoy it too. As we move forward month by month, we continue to look for ways to improve and adapt. Our goal is to strike the balance that allows me to engage, have fun, get good prizes and make progress. We also want to feel great about the fact I’m playing this game each day and having something new to concentrate on.

To ensure the highest number of players can recruit Spider-Weaver to their rosters, she will be a campaign event unlock, which is often considered one of the most player-friendly methods for character releases. As part of Marvel Strike Force’s 6.4 update Scopely informs me that Spider-Weaver (2099), Spider-Man (Noir), and Spiderman (Noir), join Marvel Strike Force.
