Evil Dead: The Game Will Not Receive Any More Content, Switch Version Canceled

Saber Interactive announced that development of new content has stopped for Evil Dead: The Game. The game’s planned Switch version has also been canceled.

A statement posted to X (formerly known as Twitter), Saber explains that despite only releasing the game last May, it’s effectively moving on from it. Saber doesn’t give a reason behind the decision, but states that it still plans to fix any major bugs and will keep the servers running “for the foreseeable future.” Check out its full statement below.

The Evil Dead: The Game forum is now open.

We have decided to stop developing new content for Evil Dead The Game. The Nintendo Switch will also not receive a version of Evil Dead: The Game.

The servers will remain up and running for as long as possible. We’ll also address any issues of importance that may arise.

In the name of all Saber staff, we thank you so much for your support and fun.

Evil Dead: The Game, an asymmetrical multi-player game set in the film’s universe, allows players to control Ash as he and his friends fight against a Kandarian demon controlled by themselves. We weren’t particularly enamored with the title at launch, with video editor Alex Van Aken scoring the game a 6 out of 10, writing in his review, “It’s incredibly one-sided for a game all about two sides. And it’s majorly unbalanced.” In this episode, you can see a group of editors take on the game.
