Everything We Know About Halo Infinite

Zeta Halo has the largest world of the Halo series. Infinite offers a wide range of hubs that can be connected to each other, unlike past installments. That’s right, this is NOT an open-world game. To uncover secrets or fulfill side quests, however, you can return to areas previously explored.

You’ll sprint or drive around the map, killing Banished platoons and storming fortified points of interest like AA gun installations. According to 343, there will be dynamic encounters and a night-day cycle. Weather effects can also change the behavior of Banished. An upgrades tab in the 8-minute gameplay trailer indicates that Master Chief’s progression might be linked to his gear. World design lead John Mulkey spoke about his excitement for Halo’s campaign gameplay:

“I love the agency we are creating that really doubles down on that premise of delivering on the promise of Halo: CE. You can approach enemy strongholds in any way you want and so there is a lot of options for what to do. Are you going to blaze your way through the front gates in a Warthog with Marines? Or do you just shine the lights on the area without any subtlety. What if I go around the perimeter, looking for an underground entrance to allow me access through the inside structures? Do I Grappleshot to a sniper tower, take out the inhabitant and begin picking off enemies from my raised vantage point?”

Sadly, you’ll have to wait to play through Infinite’s story with friends, as cooperative play won’t be available at launch. The 343 team has confirmed that split-screen local play is available again.
