Everything shown at Summer Game Fest’s Day of the Devs

Double Fine, iam8bit and Summer Game Fest were among the first to arrive at Day of the Devs for the 10th year. As usual, the broadcast curated a vibrant selection of indie games in development — everything from cute management sims to viral train-horror games.

In total, 16 games were showcased during the event, all of which we’ve rounded up below, with everything you need to know — trailers, release dates, and expected platform launches.

Time fliesMichael Frei (Children) and Raphaël Munoz, is described as part-open world, part flight simulator — and you play as a fly. It’s expected out on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Windows PC in 2023.

Developer Wishfully Studios, publisher Thunderful Planet of Lana is a “cinematic puzzle adventure” sci-fi game coming to Windows PC and Xbox in 2022.

You may remember Choo-Choo CharIt was a horrifying train horror video that went viral after it appeared in 2021. Two Star Games is planning to release it in 2022.

Escape AcademyThe game “Escape Room Experts” will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 5 as well as Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Puzzle for the Household There’s a little more to the leftDay of the Devs showcased the sorting, stacking and organization puzzles. It’s expected out on Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam.

Bear and BreakfastOn July 28, a new bed-and breakfast management simulation, called, will be available on Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and Steam.

ANIMAL WELLThis is a puzzle puzzle, but it is also a trippy game. It’s a puzzle game where the first 10 people to solve it win. It’s coming to PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam.

Pacha Roots A farming simulator in the stone age, from Soda Den developer. Woolly mammoths are real. Steam has a demo of the game.

NAIADThe 2022 release of, a swimming puzzle game for nymphs, will be available on Windows PC. This beautiful game features serene waters and gorgeous colors.

Monument Valley Alba: Wildlife AdventureDeveloper ustwo Games Announced Desta: Memories Between. It’s got turn-based game mechanics embedded within its unique story.

SCHiM This 3D platforming video game allows players to jump from one shadow to the next.

Fox and Frog Travelers: A Demon on Adashino Island

Fox and Frog Travelers: A Demon on Adashino Island is still a few years away, but looks promising: You play as a fox that’s traveling with a frog.

Goodbye WorldAn indie video game about game creators. The game uses pixel art that mimics the Gameboy Advance and Super NES titles. It’s expected out later this year.

Are you interested in creating a creature from bones and organs. Yes? (It’s surprisingly cute.) Then The BirthThis is your puzzle game. The Birth It is anticipated to be available in August 2022.

In this platforming adventure game, you enter a dream world filled with toys, candy and stuffed animals, and play as “Little Nemo.” It’s debuting on Kickstarter Thursday.

Say Goodbye to YourselfIt’s a game where a ghost tries to understand their death. It looks beautiful, like a children’s book with lots of puzzles. It’ll be released in 2022.
