Star Guardians will be arriving League of Legends, League of LegendsWild Rift, Legends of RuneterraA new line of merch. Star Guardians, an alternate League universe in which familiar characters and famous figures are reimagined into high school students living double lives as magical women, is Star Guardians. Star Guardians will begin on July 14, and last 10 weeks. There is both in-game and outside-of-game content that goes along with the new skins.

The magical girl genre (mahō shōjo) is about empowering young women, showing off their strong friendships, and pitting them against great evils. Star Guardians champions are empowered by the First Star and fight against cosmic threats — and, occasionally, each other. This is the fourth iteration of the Star Guardians event, and here’s what fans can expect.

To begin, Porter Robinson (songwriter, singer, producer) will launch a song and video on YouTube called “Everything goes On”.

League of LegendsStar Guardian Skins will be added to the collection, along with an interactive narrative experience entitled Star Guardian: Another Sky. Another Sky builds upon previous events, such as Spirit Blossoms and Sentinels of Light. It will tell a story that is free from mainline lore in an alternate universe. Riot writes about Another Sky in the announcement.

Through games of LoL and TFT, players will progress through a compelling story of love and loss, forgiveness and friendship through the eyes of a brand new crew led by Akali and Kai’Sa. At the same time, by completing in-game champion missions, they’ll increase their “bond” with the various Guardians, unlocking rewards and discovering new stories along the way.

Nilah, the Joy Unbound, is the game’s newest champion, and she’ll be one of the new Star Guardians along with Ekko, Sona, Taliyah, Quinn and Rell. Akali and Kai’Sa are getting new legendary skins with new voiceover, and Star Nemesis Morgana and Fiddlesticks serve as fearsome antagonists. Prestige Star Guardian Ekko, Syndra and Syndra will be available to collectors.

Wild RiftThe mobile app adaptation League of LegendsIt is now offering its own personal narrative experience to clients. Players can enjoy both Sentinels of Light campaigns, in a similar fashion to Sentinels of Light. This allows them to see the whole scope of the Star Guardians’ activities. Wild Rift will unveil the Star Guardian Orianna and Seraphine. Xayah, Rakan and Rakan were corrupted Star Guardians and have been released.

Players will witness Xayah’s journey to save Rakan first-hand with the help of some brand new Star Guardians. They’ll level up their squad and their familiars through a series of in-game missions, battle chaos monsters in combat encounters, and follow the fearless Guardians as they learn to forgive and forge new friendships.

Legends of Runeterra, Riot’s digital card game, will have its own Star Guardians and boards. Gwen, Kai’Sa, Jinx, Senna, Quinn, Taliyah, Lulu, and Soraka will receive Star Guardian skins for their Champion cards.

Event passes, merchandise, and cosmetics are also included. We’ve already seen Sessions: Star Guardian Taliyah, which is a creator-safe chill ambient album that depicts Taliyah at the mall, alternatively being haunted by and hanging out with Star Nemesis Fiddlesticks. Riot Games will donate 20% from all Star Guardian Event Pass proceeds, and 100% from Star Guardian Taliyah’s assorted bundles to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, in partnership with ImpactAssets.

Star Guardian Zoe and Jinx figurines can be purchased from Good Smile Company, Star Guardian pillows at Secretlab and friendship bracelets and rings from RockLove Jewelry.
