Everything Announced During The Assassin’s Creed 15th Anniversary Celebration Stream

Ubisoft hosted a special stream to celebrate Assassin’s Creed’s fifteenth anniversary today. During it, they announced a new mode for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and when Eivor’s story will end. They also offered a free weekend of gaming. It also included a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it tease of when to expect to learn more about the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Here’s a breakdown of each announcement:

Assassin’s creed Valhalla

Ubisoft has revealed that Valhalla will get another year of content – aptly named Year Two – and it will include returning festivals, Mastery Challenge Pack 2, an armory update, and new tombs to explore.

The Forgotten Saga is coming to Valhalla this summer. It is an entirely new, rogue-lite game mode set in Niflheim. Hel, the Daughter Of Loki pushes Odin into an infinite realm of death. Odin, like any other rogue-lite will perish. It is up to you to defeat waves of enemies and gain strength. Then, use your learned skills to move forward until you meet Hel. You can see dragons, monsters, human enemies and many more in the trailer. The official release date of The Forgotten Saga was not announced, but it is expected to arrive in Valhalla this summer. It will also be available for free to all players.

Ubisoft will finally release Eivor’s final chapter as a free chapter for all players towards the end of this year.

Discovery Tour: Viking Age

Discovery Tours in Assassin’s Creed Origins Odyssey and Valhalla allow players to tour the locations of the game without resorting to violence. Discovery Tour offers an informative tour through the area, which has been a hit with schools. The Viking Age version of Discovery Tour can now be downloaded today as a standalone title on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Stadia and Luna platforms, and PC.

Assassin’s Creed Origins

Ubisoft released a 60 FPS patch today for Assassin’s Creed Origins. Origins will remain free for you to test it from the 16th through 20th of June. Plus, several Origins-inspired tattoos and an Origins naval pack have been added to Valhalla.

The Future of Assassin’s Creed

Ubisoft stated that they will unveil the future of Assassin’s Creed in September at a special event. Although it could be any number of things, we are betting that the September event will reveal the next Assassin’s Creed title.  The rumored and highly-anticipated Assassin’s Creed Rift could either be revealed, which will be a shorter story about Valhalla’s Basim characters, or the lesser-known Assassin’s Creed remake. This could be the first glimpse at Assassin’s Creed Infinity. It will reportedly offer a live-service version of the franchise. It will be interesting to see what happens, but September is only a few months away.
