Elephant Mario is already the star of Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct was jam-packed with pleasant surprises, from a Super Mario RPGDetective Pikachu is back in the remake. Mario was announced as a brand new game. Super Mario Bros. WonderIt looks like an interesting and fun twist on 2D platforms. Nintendo’s trailer featured Mario, Luigi, and their gang having adventures. At the end, Nintendo revealed a strange-looking, new fruit which turns Mario into an Elephant.

It is easy to recognize Elephant Mario. He’s bipedal, bright-eyed, and keeps his usual mustache, cap, and overalls. (His shoes, however, are gone; presumably, they don’t fit his new elephant feet.) When I woke up this morning, I didn’t expect that I would be entering a world where Elephant Mario exists. But that is simply the case now, and there’s no going back.

Fans are sharing fanart and Elephant Mario ideas on social media. This particular pachyderm is a big hit.
