Elemental trailer raises wild theories on Pixar and Disney’s new world

ElementalPixar’s next imaginative film, titled?, takes place in Queens, New York, where people made from fire, water and earth live in harmony in bustling harmony. Peter Sohn directs.The Good Dinosaur), the film finds two residents crossing paths: Ember (Leah Lewis), a “tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman” and Wade (Mamoudou Athie) a “fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy.” According to Pixar, the two will meet and challenge each others’ beliefs. The classic Pixar look is updated with new elements. Elemental’s striking teaser sets up the fateful encounter without giving much away.

There is so much I want to know. I would love to relax, take in all the wonderful things, and just let it go. Elemental’s brief tease, but consider me activated. What do you want? AllMore information about Element City. These are just a few ideas:

• Although subways can float on water,… are people made from water? How can that be?
• Is it possible to compare firemen and lightbulbs within this universe?
• What is the secret to how Element City’s citizens are born?
• What is the best way to make clothing that’s fireproof?
• A man can be a tree full grown by another man.
• Why does an air person choose the human-shaped corporeal form?
• Cloud people were also water-people and went through a horrible form of condensation puberty.
• Why don’t there seem to be any metal people? Are they conquered, and made into skyscrapers and trains?
• Why does the one cloud person think it’s OK to pluck the flower from underneath a grass person’s armpits? If you notice something, tell it!
• Is it lipstick that a waterperson uses? It accidentally gets lost in their hand?
• If a water person gets sneezed on by an earth person and their water doesn’t allow grass to grow it is considered sex.
• What made the citizens of Element City choose to construct buildings over pave natural earth instead? Rude?

Pixar is Pixar ElementalMost likely to answer only a handful of questions. Then, they will hand-wave aside most world-building details with gags that are deadly and let the imagination do the rest. No one really knows how the cars are made. Automobiles talk, but that hasn’t stopped a devout religion from forming around the trilogy. The minimum you can do is to say that it’s true. Elemental has me wondering how much I absorbed in 12 years of science classes, and making me google “how do lightbulbs actually work” to verify.
