Elden Ring speedrunner already has a sub one hour run
The Soulborne games have always had a vibrant speedrunning community, so it’s no surprise that Elden RingAlready has impressive times. Twitch streamer LilAggy actually completed what seemed to be the first ever sub-one hour run of the game via his stream Wednesday.
As impressive as the video might be, don’t expect it to make your own Elden Ring Play too well. It takes a lot of glitches and bugs to beat the game in under an hour, so LilAggy is a great resource.
He quickly runs past most of the game’s opening and gets himself ported all the way to one of the Elden Ring’s Volcano Manor, near Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, one of last few demigods. He makes his way towards the Farum Azula after contacting another boss and acquiring a few upgrades. Elden Ring’s last area, and takes on the stack of bosses that guard the end of the game. These give him more difficulty than any other up until that point but he manages to defeat them all to make his incredible time.
Although LilAggy appears to be the fastest speedrunner so far, there are other speedrunners who approach the race in a different manner. YouTuber Niko Bellic — named after Grand Theft Auto 4’s protagonist — uploaded a deathless run of the game that clocks in at about two and a half hours. This run still involves plenty of skips, but obviously cuts out a few of the death skips and glitches that faster runs like LilAggy’s make use of.
These feats both are impressive. Elden RingIt has only been available for two weeks; speedrunning is just getting started. There are bound to be many unique and fast speedruns, given the open nature of this game.
