Elden Ring patch 1.07 rethinks balance in PvP and single-player/co-op
FromSoftware has released an update Elden RingOn Thursday, the game’s balance will be adjusted and changed. The most noteworthy update will have a major (apparently healthy) impact on the game’s balance between its player-vs-player and player-vs-environment components.
For Patch 1.07 Elden RingAdds PvP damage scaling, which allows for weapons, spells or shields to adjust in order to suit both cooperative and single-player gameplay. FromSoftware previously attempted to integrate weapons, skills and spells in a holistic way.
When Elden Ring’s new update extensively rebalances many of the game’s weapons and techniques, only a fraction of Thursday’s tweaks affect PvP. These include a number of incantations and Ashes of War that have had their power reduced, and improved poise damage for all weapons’ normal attacks in player-vs-player battles.
Notable is also an all-around boost in poise for all types of armor. This should make things easier. Elden RingWhile exploring the Lands Between, players can wear more varied (and trendy) armor sets.

PvP: Separate damage scale added
- This allows you to adjust the damage of Weapons, Skills and Spells separately when playing against others.
- This feature could be used in the future to balance art, weapons and spells in invasion/PvP modes.
- This feature does not allow for balance adjustments to be made between single-player or cooperative players.
Balance adjustments for PvP exclusive players
This section does not address cooperative play or single-player play.
- For all PvP attacks on guarded foes except long-range weapons, there is an increase in stamina attack power.
- Improved poise damage in PvP for every weapon’s normal attack, except for Skills and long-ranged weapons.
- Except for a handful of exceptions, Ashes of War has seen its power in PvP decreased across all categories.
- These incantations have been reduced in power in PvP:

General balance adjustments
This section adjusts both the PvE (and PvP) aspects of the game.
- Use of two-handed normal attack techniques can cause increased poise damage
- Some Colossal Sword attacks were more powerful.
- Colossal Sword rolling and crouching attacks are now detected faster and more accurately.
- Speed of certain Colossal Weapon Attacks has been increased
- Recover time of Colossal Swords/Colossal Weapons has been reduced, with the exception of jump attacks, dual wielded attack, and attacks while on horseback.
- Hammers, Great Hammers, and certain Colossal Weapons have a higher poise damage.
- Increased protection for these weapons

- Sensible FP consumption. Increased poise damage. Stamina attack power to guards.

Rock Blaster
- Reduced FP consumption and increased poise damage.

Starlight
- The effect duration was extended and FP consumption decreased.

Oracle Bubbles

Seppuku
- Inflicts more damage upon activation.
- Weapons are now less likely to have a bleed state buildup.

- The damage animation that triggers on players has been reduced in range. Unchanged damage.
How to Fix Bugs
- The Ash of War can now be removed from weapons which cannot ordinarily be mixed with specific Ashes of War.
- This bug was fixed that made it impossible to obtain items like Great Runes and Crystal Tears or Cracked Pots and Ritual Pots if the total number of inventory items and storage exceeded the limit.
- Users were unable to obtain Crystal Tear because of a bug. The item you have missed will not be available if it isn’t found in the same area.
- When certain damage animations occur, adjust the player’s character control.
- Fixes a bug which prevented some Incantations from being charged while cast with a left handed Sacred Seal mid-air.
- A bug was fixed that prevents normal attacks from dash after landing from jumps when the weapon’s two-handed.
- Fixes a bug in which various actions inputs were not taken into account when moving to change weapons.
- Corrected the description of the Colossal Sword’s physical attack attribute.
- Fixes a bug in which the timing for changing the attack direction was less than what is expected when using Greataxes.
- Fixes a bug that prevented the direction of an attack from being changed during a charge attack using the Ruins Greatsword weapon.
- Fixed a bug where the Highland Axe’s effect was not applied to the skill Shriek of Milos.
- Fixes a bug that prevented the Warrior Jar Shard or the Shard of Alexander from being applied to the skill, Sorcery of the Crozier.
- Corrected a bug that prevented the Roar medallion’s effect from being applied to the Regal Roar Ash of War
- A bug was fixed in which the skill Viper Bite caused poison to be used instead of fatal poison.
- Corrected a bug in which the Spell Rock Sling’s range was not as long as expected.
- Correction of a bug in which the time taken to recover from casting Beast Claw was not reduced by magic or incantations.
- Fixes a bug that allows enemies to attack those who are not able to be captured by the Incantation Inescapable Frenzy. The enemy will repel an attack if they have a shield.
- Fixes a bug that could allow HP and FP to be recovered from certain armor types when switching equipment.
- A bug which could lead to death or cause the player’s stucked in certain places was fixed.
- Fixed terrain bugs that made it possible to travel unexpectedly with specific procedures.
- A bug was fixed that caused collision detection and rendering of maps to be different than expected.
- Fixes a bug in which bolts fired from the Hand Ballista weapon miss the lock-on target if the frame rate is below a specific level.
- A bug was fixed that prevented online multiplayer working on both the PlayStation 4 (and PlayStation 5) versions.
- Other bug fixes and performance improvements were also made.
